Dry Cleaning
• Always dry clean your sarees — especially silk, tissue, organza, and heavily
embellished ones — to maintain their original sheen and drape.
• Occasional gentle hand washing in cold water may be done for cotton sarees, but
avoid soaking or twisting the fabric.
Ironing Guidelines
• Silk, Banarasi, Tissue & Organza Sarees:
o Avoid using steam irons, as steam can reduce the crispness of the fabric.
o If ironing is necessary, use the lowest heat or silk mode.
o Always place a thin cotton cloth between the saree and the iron to prevent
direct heat damage.
• Cotton & Linen Sarees:
o Set your iron to cotton or linen mode for a neat finish.
o If your saree has embellishments, hand screen prints, or block prints, avoid
ironing directly at home; use a professional service instead.
Storage Tips
• Store your saree in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and moisture.
• Wrap it in a muslin or cotton cloth to let the fabric breathe and avoid yellowing over
time.
• For silk or tissue sarees, refold occasionally to prevent creasing along the same
lines.
